School has started....
Hello
It's been a few week I believe. This past week school actually started, techinaclly it started one week ago but the students took wednesday to sweep and clean the school compuond and then not all ooof the teachers showed up until Monday! Schooling is much differnt here. Every class is at least 40 studernts, some as big as 63! for one teacher! can you imagine 63 first graders to one teacher? oh my. on top of that only one or two students has a textbook, so the teacher must spend countless hours writing on the black board form the textbook so the rest of the student can have the material. NExt, ther's still caning. I saw a teacher whip a child hard yesterday and i'm told that was small and minor. I don't konw. So many challenges.
So something not nice that happened this wek. Someone in my house stole my rechargable batteries from my solar charger and broke my solar chagrger. Dad said taht Becky has sent me a new charger already, so thank you Becky, and the rest do'nt worryt. But it just made me sad that someone would touch mystuff, someone from my own compound house. Ugh. Anyway, i guess solar power isn't the best when you do'nt have the house to yourself.
I've thought of mroe carepackage stuff:
Skittles
Starbursts
Crystal Light
Chocolate (snickers, mars, three muskateers, you konw a variety)
Mocha Mixes
-Nuetragena Oil Free Acne wash
-dove sensitive skin soap
-Tampons: OB green
-Pads: Always yellow or green
-Maps from AAA or other fgree places of the World; Africa; and Ghana. (the P5 teacher was teaching geography and didn't even have a map! so i loaned him mine, but i think if the school can have its own, it'd be best)
-
Coloring Books, Activty book, Children''s stories for the kdis.
Stickers
Bic Pens....the white ones.....those pens are so good :)
Is that enough stuff to ask for? haha....the only things that are really important are the bathroom supplies.
Wood carving is going well. Mrs Bush was in Ghana on tuesday, but i din't go to see her. I think i sprained my left ring finger so now it's hard to grip things, which makes wood carving hard, but i think today i will do well. My Associate Director (APCD) JOhn Addipa is ocming to Foase on tomorrow. My wellbutrin ran out on sunday and just todayt will my meds be ready for pick up. but i'm ok :-D And I"m gaining weight, so i'm trying to eat more veggies and less oil....very difficult here, haha. OH! i got my harid braided iwth fake hair, but boy did the fake hair ITCH so i took it out 4 days later. but it was fun while it lasted.
miss you all
Kris
